“What is Truth? Classical Theories of Truth” – Huw PRICE

Professor Huw Price gives an introductory overview of the main classical conceptions of the nature of truth and some of the general advantages and problems that arise for each type of view. This comes from a 2006 lecture on the nature of truth.

This was from a talk on Truth given by Huw Price as part of a lecture series on Key Concepts at the University of Sydney in 2006.

Note, this is a re-upload from the previous channel. It should also be noted that this isn’t an exhaustive list of all the positions. It’s also a somewhat crude presentation of the views. There are much more sophisticated and complex formulations of all these views and the various arguments. Furthermore, since this is from a talk given in 2006, the reference to “culture wars” obviously isn’t the same culture wars going on today in 2022 (although they may not be completely unrelated).
