April 29, 2024 | In Germany, nine people suspected of being part of a violent far-right group which allegedly plotted to overthrow the government, are going on trial. Prosecutors say the ringleader was a businessman and German aristocrat called Heinrich Prince Reuss. The alleged conspirators face charges of terrorism and high treason. It’s claimed their goal was to install Reuss as a modern-day emperor.

Heinrich XIII Prinz Reuss (born 4 December 1951) is a German businessman, far-right and monarchist activist, and member of the aristocratic House of Reuss family. A proponent of the Reichsbürger movement and antisemitic conspiracy theories, Reuss was arrested by German Federal Police in December 2022 due to his alleged leadership in the 2022 German coup d’état plot.
